HCPSS News Communication System - Upgrade

Fri, 11/14/2014 - 10:37am

HCPSS is upgrading its HCPSS News communication system. Using email and text alerts, this keeps parents/guardians, staff, and community members up to date on news and events, and delivers real-time information on bus schedule changes, weather-related closings and emergency information.

The upgrade offers many exciting features, including:

  • Increased speed for delivery of text message alerts that will support the needs of families and community members as we move into the winter months.
  • Parents/guardians of HCPSS students will no longer need to sign up for, or manage an HCPSS News account. Utilizing contact information submitted through the Emergency Card process, parents and guardians automatically will receive messages from the district and their child’s school. Parents should not re-sign up for email or text alerts.

Community members or any non-HCPSS parent must sign up to continue to receive email messages from the district and/or specific schools. All employees who do not have children enrolled in an HCPSS school, or who wish to make additional school selections, must also sign up for these messages. To sign up, go to http://www.hcpss.org/hcpss-news/
